About Us

"Staying aware shows you care"

The Student News Association is more than just a ‘school newspaper.’ Our main objective is to create an intellectual environment where opinions and ideas on local and global issues of both students and staff can be exchanged, discussed and debated. The work of the SNA aims to shed light on topics that are not talked about often and/or disregarded. The SNA would also like to inspire interest in the topic(s) we report on that could influence acts of change within the community, and support students in understanding what their values and beliefs are.

We pay great attention to creating work of our highest standard while maintaining a productive work process and schedule that is possible through effective teamwork. In comparison to other clubs, our team does not have a President or Vice President. Instead, we pride ourselves on a structure that is not based on precedence, but by the roles and responsibilities that each member plays in producing final content. Members of the SNA will be mainly recruited for their skills in producing high-quality work, collaboration skills and dedication, regardless of their grade level. It is, however, preferred if an equal representation of all grade levels is present in the SNA. All in all, working as a product-focused team is one of our highest priorities that the SNA shines in and is what makes our team unique from all other clubs in      T.L. Kennedy and in Peel.
